This event marks the official launch of the component <em>\u201cAffordable digital devices for underserved communities and vulnerable groups\u201d<\/em> of the DECIM Fund (Digital and Energy Connectivity for Inclusion in Madagascar).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong>A budget of USD 24 million to bridge the digital divide<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With a budget of USD 24 million, this component aims to facilitate access to <strong>664 000 internet-connected digital devices<\/strong>, including <strong>400 000 specifically for women and girls<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong>Objectives<\/strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reduce the digital divide;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote financial inclusion through digital tools.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Funding will be made available to companies specializing in digital device distribution and partner financial institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong>A dedicated Results-Based Financing (RBF) window<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The workshop introduced sector stakeholders to the first window of the <strong>\u201cAffordable internet-connected devices sales\u201d<\/strong> facility, supported by a dedicated line of credit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This initial RBF window will support the distribution of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Entry- and mid-range smartphones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Feature phones,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Smart feature phones,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong>Priority criteria:<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide affordable and quality devices;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Target women as primary users;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure distribution in remote areas with high poverty rates;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote mobile money to strengthen financial inclusion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The call for applications will open on <strong>April 22, 2025<\/strong>, through the official channels of the DECIM Fund.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Antananarivo, April 11, 2025 &#8230;a technical workshop was held&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":797,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-495","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-non-categorise"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.1.1 -
